Win8 has reduced its memory footprint. It's now only 20% of memory after bootup. Btw the minimum memory requirement is now 16GB

I'm kidding about the minimum memory requirement. Or am I? But who is MS trying to kid? The higher memory requirement means we all need to buy a bigger computer. If each OS doesn't raise the bar, we wouldn't need to buy bigger computers. And Microsoft's hardware partners won't be so happy.  And Microsoft, booting from suspend does not count as time booting up. Cold boot. Time to be able to use the computer from a cold boot counts as time booting up. You know, the type of boot you need to have after each Windows update or 24 hours, which ever comes first.

How are sure HP is being sold off?

  • HP is no longer Hewlett-Packard but now is Hire Purchase.
  • HP is trying to sell WebOS to Amazon. So they can bundle it 2 for 1 with a Kindle
  • HP hired an expert at auctions as their CEO
